Dar Pan

Musician/shamanic guide

He was born in the Netherlands and raised in South Australia, where he graduated with first-class honours at Flinders University in Psychology and the Dramatic Arts. Darpan spent his early years working as a professional actor in theatre, TV, and film, and was the founder, singer, and songwriter for the seminal rock band Die Laughing in the 80s.


He studied Shaolin Martial Arts and Taoist Spiritual Tai Chi under Dr. Tennyson Yiu in Sydney and went on to spend several years in India studying the art of Tantra and Meditation at Osho Commune International. His further studies include Transpersonal Psychology and the teachings of Dr. Stanislav Grof. He is deeply influenced by Buddhist, Advaita, and Taoist philosophy.


In the late nineties, he met author, raconteur, and ethnobotanist Terence McKenna, who introduced him to Ayahuasca. In the years that followed, he lived and worked with various shamans and curanderos in South America, notably Yatra Silveira de Barbosa (Brazil), Don Jose Campos (Peru), Don Casimiro Mamallacta (Ecuador), and Carioca (Brazil).


He is renowned throughout Europe and Australia as an accomplished teacher, musician, and healer, and for pioneering the ceremonial use of Ayahuasca in the West.
